National Entrance Screening Test - 2012 (NEST-2012)

National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai - Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CBS), Mumbai, have jointly announced the schedule of National Entrance Screening Test - 2012 (NEST-2012) for the Academic Session 2012-13. NEST - 2012 will be conducted on May 29, 2012 (Sunday) from 2 PM to 5 PM at the following 37 centers:

01 Ahmedabad (Gujarat), 02 Allahabad (UP), 03 Belgaum, 04 Bengaluru (Karnataka), 05 Bhopal (MP), 06 Bhubaneswar (Odisha), 07 Calicut (Kerala), 08 Chandigarh (Haryana, Punjab), 09 Chennai (Tamil Nadu), 10 Dehradun (Uttaranchal), 11 Delhi East (Delhi), 12 Delhi North (Delhi), 13 Delhi South (Delhi), 14 Guwahati (Assam), 15 Hyderabad (AP), 16 Indore (MP), 17 Jaipur (Rajastan), 18 Jammu (J & K), 19 Kochi (Kerala), 20 Kolkata North (WB), 21 Kolkata South (WB), 22 Lucknow (UP), 23 Madurai (Tamil Nadu), 24 Mumbai (Maharashtra), 25 Nagpur (Maharashtra), 26 Patna Central (Bihar), 27 Patna East (Bihar), 28 Pune (Maharashtra), 29 Raipur (Chhatisgarh), 30 Ranchi (Jharkhand), 31 Sambalpur (Odisha), 32 Shimla (HP), 33 Silchar (Assam), 34 Srinagar (J & K), 35 Udaipur (Rajastan), 36 Varanasi (UP), 37 Vishakhapatnam (AP)

Eligibility criteria for appearing NEST:
Students securing at least 60% marks in aggregate (or equivalent grade) in Class XII (or equivalent) examination from any recognized Board in India are eligible to apply. For Scheduled Cast (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates and for Persons with Disability (PD), the minimum requirement is 55%. Students who have passed the Class XII qualifying examination in 2010 or 2011 or are appearing in 2012 are eligible to apply. (Where only Letter Grade is given by the Board, a certificate from the Board specifying equivalent percentage marks will be required. In the absence of such a certificate the decision of the respective Admission Committees will be final.)

How to apply:
(Applications can be submitted in either of the following ways: 1 or 2)
(1) Online form submission is the most convenient and preferred way. Follow these steps to go for it.
Register yourself before you login. It is assumed that you already have an e-mail ID.
Confirm your registration from a mail sent to you just after registration.
Login in the NEST homepage (http://nestexam.in) with your mail-id and password.
Fill the form and save it or, modify an already saved form.
Upload passport photo and scanned signature.
Transfer fees or Send DD (in favour of "NEST-2012", payable at Mumbai). Quote Appl.No. in both cases.
(2) A letter of request can be sent to The Chief Coordinator, NEST 2012, Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences Health Centre, University of Mumbai,Vidhyanagari Campus, Mumbai - 400098 to get the printed form by post. This form will have to be sent back along with DD after filling it properly. Please send a self-addressed envelop of size 30cm X 22cm
