Post Graduate Medical Admission Test (PGMAT)-2012

Applications on prescribed form are invited by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board, Patna for appearing in the Post Graduate Medical Admission Test (PGMAT)-2012 in order to select candidates for admission to the First Year of the following Post Graduate Degree/ Diploma courses:
(i) MD / MS / PG Diploma (PGD) Courses in Patna Medical College, Patna , Darbhanga Medical College, Darbhanga , Nalanda Medical College, Patna , A.N.M. Medical College, Gaya and IGIMS Medical College, Patna for the session 2012.
(ii) State Quota of MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses in Katihar Medical College, Katihar & MGM Medical College, Kishanganj for the session 2012.
(iii) MDS Course in Patna Dental College, Patna for the session 2012.
(iv) MD (Ayurveda) in Govt. Ayurvedic College, Patna for the session 2012.

Qualification & Eligibility:

Educational: The candidate must have passed M.B.B.S. Examination from any Medical College of Bihar State included in the schedule of Medical Council ofIndia. The candidates who are permanent residents/domiciled of Bihar and have been admitted in MBBS course on the basis of competitive examination conducted on behalf of Govt. of Bihar or by CBSE before the bifurcation of Bihar i.e. 15.11.2000 in Medical College situated in Jharkhand and have obtained the degree of MBBS are also eligible for appearing in this competitive examination for admission in academic session 2012 in this Course Group.

The candidates must have completed the rotating Internship. A candidate who has passed the MBBS Examination but has not complete the rotating Internship may be allowed to appear at PGMAT-2012 on provisional basis but must complete the rotating Internship before the date of Counselling/interview for PGMAT-2012, otherwise the candidate will not be allowed to partcipate in the counselling/Interview.

The candidates must have obtained permanent Registration from Medical Council of India or Bihar State Medical Council. A candidate, who has not obtained permanent registration from Medical Council of India or Bihar State Medical Council but is otherwise eligible, may be allowed to appear at PGMAT-2012 on provisional basis but he must obtain the Medical Council of India,failing which the admission of the candidate shall be cancelled. He must also be registered after admission under the concerned University within the period prescribed by that University.

Residential: The candidates must be a citizen of India.
Others: A candidate who is not a permanent resident / domicile of Bihar but has passed the MBBS Examination from any Medical College of Bihar State included in the Schedule of Medical Council of India, is also eligible as per the directive of the Hon'ble High Court, Patna in C.W.J.C. No.3448/2000.
