Ph.D Spring session 2012

Applications in prescribed form from eligible candidates are invited by Aliah University, Kolkota for admission to the Ph.D. programme under the following departments for the Spring semester of 2011 – 12 session:

(i) Arabic
(ii) Geography
(iii) Chemistry
(iv) Mathematics
(v) Physics
(vi) Electronics & Communication Engineering

Eligibility:
For Sl. Nos. (i) – (v):
A Master’s degree in the concerned or allied subject from a UGC recognized University/ Institute or such other degree as may be considered adequate for this purpose by this University, with at least a CGPA of 6.0 in 10-point scale or 55% marks.

For Sl. No. (vi): A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology in the concerned or allied subject from a UGC recognized University/ Institute or such other degree as may be considered adequate for this purpose by this University, with at least a CGPA of 8.0 on a 10-point scale or 75% marks.

Candidates have to appear for an Admission Test followed by an interview to be conducted by the respective department of the university. The Admission Test is waived for the candidates who have qualified in NET, GATE, SET, SLET, UGC (JRF), CSIR (JRF), or Teacher Fellowship, or equivalent examinations or those having an MTech, ME, MPhil degree, with CGPA above 6.5 in a 10-point scale. However, they shall be required to appear for the interview.
